September 2015 CMDA Indiana Rep Report

SEPTEMBER 2015Indiana Representative Report Banner

Hello,

My name is Clark Downey. I am so excited to have the privilege of being your CMDA Indiana State Representative. I would like to share a little about myself. I grew up as a farm boy in Wabash, Indiana. I received my training as a dentist at the University of Michigan, followed by a one-year hospital-focused residency through Northwestern University in Chicago. Since 2009, I have practiced dentistry in Richmond, Indiana. I currently live just outside of Indianapolis. I am passionate about my relationship with Jesus Christ and enjoy serving through domestic and international mission outreaches.

I would love the opportunity to hear personally from each and every one of you. Please view me as your first point of contact with CMDA. I believe that it is crucial for Christian healthcare professionals to stay connected and united as we serve the LORD in our professions.

What local CMDA events are coming up in your area? Share them with me, and I’ll include them in next month’s newsletter.

Focus on Events

Registration is now open for CMDA’s 2016 National Convention. Join us in R! idgecrest, North Carolina on April 21-24, 2016 at TRANSFORM, the premier convention for Christian healthcare professionals. You definitely don’t want to miss this event, so take advantage of early bird pricing now. For more information, visit www.cmda.org/nationalconvention.

I would like to conclude with encouraging you to look for opportunities to share your faith in Christ with your patients when the opportunity presents. If you are like me, this can seem overwhelming. It is so much easier to simply just “be nice” to people. Unfortunately, just “being nice” does not always translate to the patient understanding why you are so “nice.” We MUST take the next step and share the reason for our hope. CMDA has an excellent resource to help us with this called Grace Prescriptions. If you are unable to attend one of the CMDA’s live seminars listed above, you can order the DVD small group study.

In Christ,

Clark Downey, DDS
