CR Powell and Community Physicians Mentor IUSM Students
It is difficult for medical students to find time in their busy schedules to attend a formal church service. Often, weekend rounds and other student required activities make it difficult to connect with other IUSM students of Christian faith.
CR Powell, MD, a Professor of Urology at IUSM has a passion for mentoring medical students and encouraging them in their Christian faith. Over the past two years, he has been asked by the student leaders of the IUSM CMA Chapter to help coordinate events in the homes of Christian community physicians. At these meetings students are encouraged by the fellowship of their colleagues, learn about a particular field of medicine from the host, and participate in a short Bible study. Of course there is also good food at these events provided by the host!
