Indianapolis and Central Indiana CMDA invites you to reserve Tuesday Evening, April 26, 2016 @ 7:00 p.m. for our annual Indianapolis Spring Event – an evening of fellowship, challenge and inspiration. Members are encouraged to invite spouses, medical and dental colleagues, students, residents and friends. Light Refreshments will be served.

Presenter: Jeffrey Barrows, DO
Dr. Jeffrey Barrows is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist and holds an MA in Bioethics at Trinity International University, in Chicago. He is the former Administrative Director for CMDA’s Medical Education International and has led medical education consultations in over eight countries. In 2005 he began working with the State Department’s Trafficking in Persons office to study the health consequences of human trafficking. By 2006 he was teaching healthcare professionals how to recognize human trafficking victims and consulted on the healthcare needs of trafficking victims in Sierra Leone and Liberia. He also developed the first online Continuing Medical Education course on Human Trafficking specifically for physicians.
In 2008, he and his wife founded Gracehaven, a non-profit organization providing a rehabilitative facility for adolescent girls who are victims of child sex trafficking in Ohio. In 2014, he became a member of the Technical Working Group on Health and Human Trafficking under the Health and Human Service’s Administration for Children and Families. He now serves as Director of U.S. Training at Hope For Justice, an organization dedicated to eradicating human trafficking. Dr. Barrows is recognized as a leading authority on human trafficking and speaks widely on the subject.
CMDA Indianapolis Update: Our CMDA Spring Event will also include updates on CMDA’s student ministries at Indiana University and Marian University; a Special Report on the Wilson Exchange Program – the hosting of 4 Chinese Medical Students for orientation to medical education in the US; and finally a report on our March medical mission trip to Haiti.
